Hi team,

Can Check_MK pull the SNMP string configured directly from the Fiber Switch rather than putting SNMP traps

What exactly do you want to do?

You cannot access a SNMP device without knowing the used credentials. With this it is also not possible for CMK to fetch anything from the device without the credentials.

The read or write community must not be the same as the trap community,
The read/write communities are for security as mentioned by Andreas.
For security reason also SNMPv3 at least with authentication is recommended.
