Can i rename an SNMP discovered interface to a custom name?

Hi,

I am migrating platforms and want to change the discovered SNMP interface name of some devices to a custom name…is this possible?

Hi,
you can discover the Interfaces by index, alias or description. The Results:
index => Interface 1
descr => Interface eth1
alias => Interface to_rt
This can be done by using the rule “Network Interface and Switch Port Discovery” with “Apperance of network interfaces”

Thanks for the reply. Can i not make a description with WATO at all as i don’t want any of the IF-MIB values?

Based on the edition, you can try a “Translation of Service description”.
