Is there another product anyone here can recommend that can monitor ~500 hosts? I have 4 beefy hosts used for multisite monitoring and check_mk apparently cannot keep up.

Agent is on 1.4.0-13. Server on 1.4.0.14 to see if that would help but it didn’t.

That looks like most of the agent data is being dropped, not just the local section. Are you running the same agent version (or lower) as the check mk server?

Along with no local output, we also get this Warning output from the Check_MK service:
WARN - Missing agent sections: cpu, df, diskstat, kernel, lnx_if, mem, mounts, ntp, postfix_mailq, postfix_mailq_status, ps, tcp_conn_stats,
uptime - execution time 1.6 sec

The checks themselves aren’t timing out. And it’s all local checks that show no output, not a particular check. It seems likely
it’s a cache issue on the server side, maybe caused by a large amount of output from the agent.

Most likely your local check is timing out or malfunctioning. What is the script doing? If it takes a long time, you can run it via cron and have a local script parse the output
or make use of the local script caching feature - https://mathias-kettner.de/checkmk_localchecks.html
