[Check_mk (english)] performance

Hi,

And what about mssql.vbs? (SQL server performance counters)

Stephane

···

Windows updates should be run once per day.

Mk inventory should be run every couple of hours maximum.

Those are likely your bottlenecks.

Hi,

I’ve seen meanwhile that this rule ‘Restrict HW/SW-Inventory to once a day ‘ is created by default
with a default value of 1 day.

You are right I use mk_inventory.vbs

So that’s not be problem

I also use plugin windows_updates.vbs to get windows updates.

Perhaps I should create a special rule for it (check period = 1 hour is enough)

I monitor 7538 services and most of them are in stale state.

Stephane

That explains it.

a)
Not sure .ps1 is the latest … some time recently it was swapped back to vbs

b)
Create a rule to modify the period of the inventory via “Normal check interval” for service checks, then specific services = ‘Check_MK HW/SW Inventory$’, set a 1 day interval

Should be enough

Hi Joel,

Yes I use mk_inventory.ps1 plugin on the 85 Windows servers with check period default value (1 minute).
How to increase check period (2 hours for instance) only for that check?
Note that all my plugins are executed asynchronously.
I have the following line in my .ini file:

[plugins]

_ execution * = async_

Stephane, that is not normal load for such a small site. Do you have the inventory check or HW/SW check running too frequently?

Hi,
I monitor about 85 hosts with a server with following features:
Debian Jessie, 8 CPU, RAM = 16 GB
Navigation in multi-site GUI is slow and CPU usage is around 60% and
Memory used = 1 GB / 16 GB
Do I have to boost my server?
I am a little bit surprised to have performance problems with ‘only’
85 hosts.
I monitor over 300 hosts with 8 CPU cores, and 10GB of ram. I was
forced to disable Perf data though. In my case this was not a
significant loss. This system is still under load, but keeps up.
