Hey,
we have a host (router) monitored with SNMPv1, CMK version 2.0.0p12 (CEE). CMK uses the “check_mk-interfaces” for the interfaces. This works but I’m not getting the port descriptions from the device:
OK - Interface 0001004 - [Stack Port 1:4], (up), MAC: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, Speed: 1 GBit/s, In: 15.2 kB/s (0.01%), Out: 1.51 kB/s (<0.01%)).
If I set the device to SNMPv3 (now “check_mk-if64” is used") I get the port description shown in the status detail output:
OK - Interface 0001004 - [vmhost01] (up) MAC: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, 1 Gbit/s, In: 0 B/s (0.0%), Out: 1.37 kB/s (0.0%)
I still have an older CMK 1.60p20 running, here the same host with SNMPv1 uses the “check_mk-if64” check and there I have the descriptions …
is this a normal behavior?
