Hi all. I am trying to set up email notifications for checkmk. Does anyone have a simple answer or guide on how to set this up. Ive read the user guide but its not very clear (for me anyway)

The most important thing is that your system where the CMK site is running can sent mail without any problem.
Inside CMK you only need to create a notification rule or activate the default one. You don’t need any users as you can define a mail address directly inside the rule.

Brill. Thanks for that. So im guessing the system/server that CMK runs on needs to be configured with an SMTP relay of some sort before i can look at any notification settings within CMK?
Yes, Check MK cannot itself send emails, it needs the system to do it.
