Hi guys. A quick one.
I have many CMK servers with 1.2.6p16. I want to migrate them to 1.6.0 or 2.0.0.
My question:
Can i keep all the monitored hosts with 1.2.6p16 agents? Or it’s imperative to upgrade those too? I’m talking about Linux and Windows servers, nothing out of the ordinary.
Will i gain anything from the agent upgrade?

The core agent will work also with 1.6 but some plugins need a update. For instance the mssql.vbs needs to be an actual version if used.
I would recommend that you update the agents as soon as possible. Some newer checks also will only work with newer agents as the data is missing in the older agents. Also some small changes in the core agent will affect the checks if used.
For some Windows Versions you can only use the old one but all Systems that can be updated should be updated but you can do it later.
