Conversion/Migration from RAW to Enterprise Appliance to support clustering

I am relatively new to Check_MK. We have the RAW version running on Ubuntu VMs. I want to ask a follow up question to this

Howdy, Sorry if this is already answered somewhere, I scanned the Check_MK page and didn’t locate it. We are combining multiple Nagios servers into a single Check_MK Raw server. We plan to purchase Check_MK Enterprise once the funds are allocated, unfortunately that will be after the mandatory go live date for the project so we are having to start with the free version. My question, once we purchase the Check_MK enterprise version, can we upgrade our free raw system in place? Thanks, Mike …

We also want to consider upgrading from RAW version to an enterprise edition, but we want to take advantage of clustering in the appliances, either physical appliances or virtual machines. How do we migrate from the Ubuntu servers to a set of clustered appliances? Is there a path for this migration?

You need to omd update your site first to the enterprise edition in place.

Then you just omd backup your current site and restore it on the cluster pair given that the same checkmk version is installed on the appliances.
