Custom icon: "Please choose a valid PNG image" - but it is one?

HI there,

it’s the first time I want to upload a custom icon - and it does not work at all.

I have tried different PNG images, all with a size of 80x80 and below. I always get this message, in version 1.6.0p19 and 2.0.0p5:
image
What is the reason for this message? Are there other requirements to the icon PNG file?

Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon,
in my environment 1.6.24 & 2.0.5 Icon`s can be uploaded and used

winscp_80x80

try this one as example

Guacamole-logo

location for the Icons are:
./local/share/check_mk/web/htdocs/images/icons/

Very interesting, I tried Bernds icon and it worked.
Could anybody try to upload my logo?

Any clue why mine isn’t working?
Thanks & regards,

Hi Simon,
and has everything worked out now ??

Hi,
finally worked on this now… and examined your PNGs and mine with exiftool.
Mine had a lot more EXIF data - that’s all I have seen. The image colors, dimensions etc. were the same.
After I exported the image from GIMP without any additional data it was accepted by checkmk.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks,
Simon
