you find the theme.css and theme.json files in the directory: share/check_mk/web/htdocs/themes/[classical|facelift|modern-dark]. Copy the file you want to edit to local/share/check_mk/web/htdocs/themes/[classical|facelift|modern-dark]/ and make your changes.
