we configured our notification logic with notification rules, including time, criticality, contact groups, etc.
All notifications which do not match a rule, are not wanted and are disposed using a blackhole notification method (in the last rule). Unfortunately this means, that all notifications are generated and disposed, which delays the whole monitoring when a big outage happens.
Our resolution for this is currently, that we duplicated the logic from the notification rules to the rules “Enable/disable notifications for hosts” and “Enable/disable notifications for services”.
It would be great if there is a way to disable the notifications for the hosts/services based on the result of the notification rules, maybe as an alternative to the fallback email address.
