Edit Rules via checkmk REST API (checkmk Version 2.1)

Hi all,

since checkmk Version 2.1 it is possible to Create, Delete and move the Rule to another location via the REST API.

We are missing the feature of Edit an existing Rule.
OK, we can delete the old one and create a new one with the modified data, but it would be easier when we edit the existing Rule.

Do we miss something or has someone heard on the checkmk conference that this will be included in a feature release?

Best Regards
Thomas

Hi @T.Schmitz,
it will be definitely included in one of the feature releases.
At the moment, I can’t give you any time estimation.

Hi all,

we are currently testing the new beta version of 2.2 (2.2.0b2) and have seen that the REST API Endpoint “Show a rule” has an etag in the Response Header.
The documentation does not mention any new API endpoint for editing an existing rule.

Does anybody know if editing a rule is now included in the REST API of checkmk 2.2 (and maybe not yet documented)?

Best Regards
Thomas
