Failed notifications with custom plugin

Hi,
I have a custom RocketChat plugin script, that sometimes fails with a Keyerror. Is there any good way to debug a notification script like an agent script with cmk --debug hostname?

The best way would t use some print statements inside the script and see what it gives in the notify.log.
