Gaps in Graphs local caching?

Hi All,

I hope I can get to the bottom of this, although in some ways it makes sense why it’s happening.

If we lose connectivity to a host, we lose that performance data for the time the agent is not available. Is there any way to cache the data on the agent, until such time as the server is able to communicate again?

I have roughly 70 hosts dotted around the country (South Africa) and we don’t have the best connectivity to them. This is often caused by the internet/ISDN lines going down. I cannot have gaps in the data when I create reports.

Any advise would be appreciated.

This will not be possible.

The agent on the host is passive, it will only output data when queried from the server.
The metrics are generated after querying the data.

If possible you could setup distributed monitoring instances in your separated locations: https://checkmk.com/cms_distributed_monitoring.html

Fabulous, thank you for the feedback, much appreciated!
