I need some help. I use to monitor network devices using SNMP and the community but some days before Network Team asked me to use a .MIB file to monitor a network device. I have that file but what I do not know is how to configure a .MIB file in checkmk to monitor a network device. Could someone please help me?
You cannot just upload a MIB file and get checks from that. A MIB is just the syntactical definition of the contents the SNMP agent of the device provides. There are no semantics written in the MIB at least not machine parseable.
You would need to implement a check plugin for checkmk. If you meed help with that you can ask a checkmk partner.
