How to extract a particular mkp in a folder, make changes and re-pack?

Is there a documentation to do that ?

  1. create an new site
  2. mkp install
  3. edit files
  4. edit $OMD_ROOT/var/check_mk/packages/packagename to change the version number
  5. mkp pack
  6. remove site

When using the Enterprise edition you can use the WATO Extensions module for steps 2, 4 and 5.

If - for whatever reason - you are not able to use the commandline tools for package management you can use the tar command (or an archiver like 7zip if you are on Windows) for unpacking and repacking your mkp.
