How to remove a dead distributed monitoring node?

CMK version: 2.1.0p48.cre
OS version: CentOS 7

Error message:

Output of “cmk --debug -vvn hostname”: (If it is a problem with checks or plugins)

Issue is that we have a suddenly decomme’d distributed monitoring instance with a handful of monitored hosts.

I need to delete the instance and it’s hosts , but unable to activate changes since the instance is considered disconnected.

how would I resolve this via CLI?

first you need to set the folder or however you associated the hosts to that host to something else.

“Basic Seetings → Monitored on site”

after that you can disable/remove the distributed monitoring host and delete the monitored hosts aswell.
