CMK version: CheckMK Raw, Version 2.1.0p9.cre OS version: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
Hi everyone,
I have trouble with the notification function.
There is only the default notification rule in my config and the sender address of that was set to “foo@”. I have since set the entire rule to be inactive (“do not apply this rule”) and yet I receive email notifications from CheckMK from the sender address “bar@”.
That sender address pertains to none of the users I have created. I only ever configured it as part of the mail server configuration (I use exim4 for that) on the host system.
How can I find out why these emails are being generated?
Maybe following logs help you figuring out… /omd/sites/[sitename]/var/log/notify.log shows reasoning of notifications based on available rules /var/log/mail.log shows on my Ubuntu with sendmail smtp relay config the mail sent
Oh and /etc/hosts might be of influence on the domain (alias) being used.
Thank you for pointing me to those logs. Turns out that the notification rule was indeed inactive but I had a fallback mail recipient configured and mails were being sent there.
