I want to be alerted only for low disk space. I dont want to have alerts for rta or device is online or offline. I only want the low disk space alert for certain devices. What needs to be done within checkmk to do this?

you can create service group as shown here : Understanding and configuring services - Detecting and monitoring elements of a host and add filesystem service to it so only this service will notify you.
