Link to the corresponding rule when a service check is viewed

Sometimes I add a new host and get a warning/error that I didn’t see before. That’s not so bad, but when I look at the details of that service, I see that there is a rule that limits the value of the monitored item and it can be changed. But I do not see a link to the corresponding rule(set).

So, for example, I added my first “real” metal host (the others are VMs), and I got a temperature warning. VMs don’t have temperature sensors :slightly_smiling_face:. It would be nice if that details screen had a link to the ruleset for the item (or the check command).
I searched for “therm” and got 2 rulesets. I defined one rule in each, and one worked as intended, and the other one caused errors because I set a rule for a non-monitored item…

I’d really love to see a way to get to the rules directly from the service display.

Behind the service name use the hamburger icon and then the “Parameters for this service”

On the next screen every time the second option from top

goes to the rule set responsible to the selected service parameters.
Result in my example brings me to this rule. If no rule is existing you should have an empty list here.

Thank you! I didn’t look there, but now you say it, it’s pretty obvious

Thank you for opening my eyes!

And I stand corrected :frowning: - it doesn’t always work.

The host has a check called ‘Interface 16’, which is obviously generated by the agent. There I get a Speed: 10 GBit/s (expected: 25 GBit/s) **WARN** message. I want to ignore the “Speed” part, because it’s mostly set to 25 GBit/s, just once in a while it shows 10 GBit/s. It’s a virtual interface on OS level (vethc1171c7), so the speed difference may come from the Docker environment. And since this interface bases upon a vlan interface that shows 25 GBit/s consistently, I’m not worried about the temporary 10 GBit/s.

In the parameter view I see “This check is not configurable via Setup”, which is a bummer. I can unmonitor the service, though. I guess I have to write a check myself that strips the speed info from the output. In the meantime, I get a notification approximately every 2 hours that the speed is a problem and 2 minutes later that the speed is OK again. :person_shrugging:

If it is a interface check it must be configurable. Can you show a screenshot from the service details page of this interface check?
