Migrate data from check_mk 1.6 to 2.0

Hi friends,

first apologize if this question already exists, but I have searched and have not seen anything.

I have deployed check_MK 2.0.0b5 on docker and I would like to restore my check_mk 1.6 site to the new version. When restoring the site it tells me the message:

omd restore mysite mysite.tar
You need to have version 1.6.0p14.cre installed to be able to restore this backup.

Is there a way to migrate the data?

To “migrate” you have to run omd update. That means you need a 1.6.0p14.cre container first.

I didn’t explain it well, sorry.

I want to keep check_mk 1.6.0p14 in production, and I want to be able to have a copy of hosts and configuration if possible, in check_mk 2.0 in development environment.

If I use the option to restore a backup from 1.6 to 2.0 it gives an error. Is there a way to do it?

Create a copy of the 1.6 site and upgrade that copy to 2.x. Keep the original site untouched.
