Monitoring rules based on host OS

Hi, everyone,

I am running CheckMK 2.0p1, and I am trying to determine how to configure monitoring rules based on the host operating system. I understand that the best way in general to do this would be with a tag or label, but that doesn’t actually solve the problem insofar as I would need a rule to create a tag or label based on the detected operating system, which I can’t do because I don’t know how to configure a rule based on the detected operating system.

Any thoughts?

The checkmk 2.0 agent automatically creates labels like cmk/os_family:linux and cmk/os_family:windows.

Great, thank you! As a follow-up, is there a way to view all the available labels?

You can add a column for the host labels in the “All Hosts” view or create your own view with just hostname and labels.
