Network scan finds hosts but adds only a few of them

Hi all, new user Mark here.

I have a weird issue with network scans in EE 1.6.0p10.

I create a folder for a subnet that contains 20 hosts, a mix of Windows boxes with the agent, a couple of routers, ESXi hosts, and even a UPS. When I run a network scan it finds 20 hosts but adds only 2, the APC UPS and the checkMK VM itself, to the monitored hosts. When I rerun the scan, it continues to say “found 18 new hosts” but never adds them (see screenshots below).

I’m at a loss what’s going on. This happens in all my remote sites, reporting into a central instance. When I delete the remote site completely and recreate a new site using omd, everything works as it should. So obviously something in the settings must be at fault. The sites are less than 6 months old and have always been EE 1.6.0p10.

Any idea how to troubleshoot this?
