I know about Parent-Child relations and how to use that to stop notification floods.
But are there ways to build a sort of safety net for when there is no good parent readily available. As a practical example we had a case a few months back were the A/C in our host data center failed resulting in tons of temperature sensors turning bad.
Is there a way to achieve something that maybe blocks notifications from being sent if the amount per time is too high ? any different ideas for how to go about it?
You can do Notification Bulking. Then you get bundled notifications based on the conditions, like Time horizon or Create separate notification bulks based on, you set. You still get the flood, but categorized in less mails (or whatever notification method you configured).
