Notifications of host & services

Hi all,

I have some questions about below picture:

  1. What does the Command: mail and check-mk-notify mean?
  2. Does Check_MK send 2 emails? if yes to which user/contact?

Thank you in advance for any help…

  1. mail means it will send a notification to alex.bert since it’s the contact configured in notification rule ; check-mk-notify means the service entered hard state and it’ll be processed in the mk-notify deamon.
  2. No. from your picture it’ll only send one e-mail.

thanks for your answer @ricardoftribeiro,

that mean Check_MK create to entries and one of them send an email?
the check-mk-notify its only information that the service is entered in hard state right ?

Yes, two entries - one means the alarm is being addressed to mknotify module and the other that the alarm matched specific notification rule.
