One button to deactivate a host complete

I m missing a one button solution to deactive a host so that it isn t shown in host and service problems any longer.

Ralf

Why should you have a host shown nowhere except wato? What is the usecase for such a solution?

There are different posibilities to not show certain host depending on their state, tags and other variables and informations on views or status pages.

Hallo,
we have some very dynamic sites where hosts often are down for hours when things aren t working as planed (testing and developer sites).
So it would be nice to “click them away (host and services)” with a single action.

Ralf

The “one button” solution is already existing, it’s downtime.
If you set it - the host is not existing in any problem views and you can cancel the downtime and it is back again.

You can also implement an automatically set to downtime if servers are shutting down. The same to cancle the downtime on upstart.

We implemented this with the old nagios downtime script from @LaMi but it should be quite easy with the API too.

Hm
setting a downtime clears all service problems but not the host problem list in the default view.

Downtime on Host not on Service

Ok,
is it possible to add this function in the pull down action menu?

Ralf

Maybe to have an API call behind the drop down action menu to start a downtime on the host?

Should be possible to implement actually.
