Dear Forum Users.
A coolague of mine was cleaning ur Active Directory and deleted a key user that was synced to CheckMk witch owned a lot of views.
This users has now been deleted from Active Directory and our views are gone.
What would be the easiest way to recover these views?
I have saved all the snapshots from right before we activated the changes so a backup is a possibility
What you can look for is the folder “~/var/check_mk/web/” there inside are folders for every user.
If you find the deleted user there then you should also find the views owned by this user.
@r.sander’s solution is also what i would prefer to minimize the impact of user changes/deletion and so on
My recommendation: Create a local user account that is not dependent on external directories for storing global views etc. Call that account “editor” or sth like this and create a role that only has permissions to edit and publish GUI elements.
