Hi,
we have updated yesterday to the p27 cee and at least since then, we have a problem with the sidebar. For me and my colleague the sidebar disappears when logging out and back in, but also when I refresh the webpage with f5. This happens in both firefox and chrome. For me, the error only occurred after I added a snapin and removed it again. My colleague have this issue directly since the update. If you use the sidebar button on the left side, the sidebar will reappear until you press f5 again. Can anyone confirm this?

In addition, apparently it concerns ldap users and not local users…

Hey,
i can confirm this bug. Since we have updated to p26 the sidebar disappears when i refresh the website or activate pending changes. LDAP and local users, sidebar left or right makes no difference in my case.

It looks like changes to the sidebar are no longer completely propagated to the associated user-config file “~/var/check_mk/web/<user id>/sidebar.mk”. The parameter “fold:True” does not change anymore, no matter if you fold or unfold the sidebar, nevertheless the modified time of the config file changes.

Hey @CFriedrich,

Thanks for reporting. I just wanted to let you know that we are aware of this issue and that our devs are looking into it. We’ll provide an update when we have more details / a solution is made available.

Hi @CFriedrich and @Alex-C9ku
thank you for your report! We just found and fixed the error causing this sidebar fold problem. The fix will be made available with version 2.0.0p28

Hi @Kenneth
Is this “bug” with the sidebar the only problem with LDAP? I.e. can LDAP users login as usual?
Best, Peter

HI @PeterE, there are no reports of login issues with LDAP per se.
If you have issues, please open a dedicated thread.

Hi Peter, the problem with the sidebar occurs with all users, whether local or ldap. In this sense there is no ldap problem with p27.

@robin.gierse & @CFriedrich
Thanks for the clarification. I have not yet updated (still running 2.0.0p24). I will now upgrade ASAP.

I would only update if I don’t use the sidebar. If you do use it, I would wait for p28.

I use it sometimes. Ok, in this case, I will wait a few more days for p28 to get out.

Hi Kenneth,
can you already say when the p28 will be released?

Hi Alex,
there’s no fixed date for the p28 release yet. It should be released around the end of august/start of september - yet, that’s without any warranty.
Best,
Kenneth
