we are using check_mk 2.0p8 on an ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS to monitor several HP server services with snmp.
Once in a while (1 times a week, sometimes more often) we received the error message from all snmp checks that they are unknown (item not found in monitoring data) or that the check has crashed. But after a while (5 -10 minutes) everything is changing to OK.
On all hosts we are using the check_mk 2.0 client and the snmp agents from HP.
Any ideas how to fix that?
Is this the management interface (iLO)?
If yes then it looks like you rebooted the system. In this case the management controller misses some data that it gets from the operating system normally.
In some of my servers there are missing some temperatures and some information about harddrives.
yes, it is. But we didn’t rebooted the server. We receive those messages sometimes twice or more a day but it is also possible that this check work for more then 2 days without crashing.
