We are currently running check_mk 1.6 on Centos 6.10. Since its impossible to install check_mk 2.0 on this machine we have made new one on Centos 8 (AlmaLinux). I have installed check_mk 2.0 without problems there.
Is there possibility to somehow make backup on 1.6, copy it on machine with 2.0 and restore it there?
I have tried to do it manually from WATO but i dont see option to “select file”.

The easiest way is to split the migration in two steps. First, install the same Checkmk 1.6 version on the new system, export the site with “omd backup” and import it with “omd restore”. In a second step, update the site to the new Checkmk version with “omd update”.
