Hey everyone,
Last night we did significant changes to two ESXi hosts including writing to new switch, changing IP and hostname, etc… We’ve also renamed their hosts accordingly in CheckMK. Everything on the servers are monitored quite fine except the “Maintenance Mode” item. The check output is “not in maintenance mode” but it’s still a critical item… Am I missing something?
CRIT - System not in Maintenance mode
Oh it looks like someone set a rule that the desired target state for this service is “in mentainance” 
Can you please check if there is a rule assigned to this service?
Please check the rule " [ESX Hostsystem Maintenance Mode]"
As far as I remember the default is “System should be in Maintenance Mode” which is for sure not what we want.
At least I setup the rule with “System should not be in Maintenance Mode” and all is OK
