This year, we will also have workshops on the day, before the conference starts.

Are these workshops interesting? What specifically would you like to learn?

The agenda reflects our current product development focus and features, which will impact Checkmk users. The conference is still almost five months away and so, a lot will happen until then. Many things, which we are doing (e.g. migration from Python2 to Python3) are not included.
So, changes to the agenda are still possible!

As you are not missing anything, and we do not receive too many feature requests regarding the appliance, there won’t be any big new appliances features to talk about until the conference

You mean like, how to integrate Checkmk with a CMDB? E.g. someone showing an example of how to do that? Or something else?
There is a new mechanism in the CEE (Dynamic Configuration), which can do miracles for integrating CMDBs. But we have only built some PoCs around that - if there is a lot of interest around that, we might expand on that for the conference (we only previewed that at our last partner day).

At the 2019 conference, it was explained how to integrate Check_MK with i-doit. I could do something similar for example with GLPi.

However, I would love to see Check_MK also become an authentic CMDB.

HA can be done with the appliances (active-passive) and should be quite doable. Again I need to ask, anything specific in this regard? @BH2005

Sure. But we dont rune the appliances. We run the CMK master in a VM on our xen environment. And we would look forward to this been a feature for not just the appliances

HA / Cluster simple as CEE function

surely you can make something with PACEMAKER etc.

but it would be nicer out-of-the-box and also looks more professional :wink:

But i thing this is more a feature request …

The feature already exists with the virtual appliance as well.

Simon Meggle wrote a tutorial to cluster check-mk.
Perhaps it helps but it is in german.

@rprengel and I can confirm that it works to at least in the old OMD in the new CMK I haven’t tried it yet

a workshop in this direction will certainly appeal, especially since it is an important topic and can not be realized quite trivalal and many points must be considered during operation.!

@martin.hirschvogel But I also have another subject in the pipeline.

Monitoring of EIB / KNX installations or building services, IoT

The problem is not to find many interesting topics … but also the people who have the time, knowledge and desire to run a workshop on the subject.

Here to also a big praise to the people who prepare and run such workshops !!!

In times of HCI I would love some talk about Windows Storage Spaces Direct / Azure Stack HCI Monitoring. (Storage & DIsk Performance, Latencies, and so one - which will currently mostly done by Windows Admin Center)
