Access denied when search host ip via VPN

Hello,

i would like to report a problem with host search in Hosts Menu.

When i am on the same network as check_mk server, the search works fine, IP is found well.

But when I am connected remotely via VPN and try the same search, thats not possible. following eror occuerd:

This looks more like a problem with your company firewall.
I don’t know any “normal” firewall what gives you already a support ticket ID :wink:

Hallo,
check the IP of your VPN client.
Sophos for example uses 10.2.x.y and this range has no access per default ino internal networks.

You are right, its our firewall. I didnt recognize that message. So i went to logs and founded reason . Search message is more than 2048 character long and ISP rule stop this action. So I temorary disable this rule and its working. But why is that search string so long?

The normal web interface uses no HTTP post only get and sent’s all needed information inside the URL.
I think this is the reason.
