All services are in "Stale" status

Hi All,

I am using checkmk version Enterprise edition 2.1.0 . Recently I notice that all the hosts’s services (over 100 hosts) we monitor are in the “stale” state, showing the message “the service is in stale, no data has been received within the last 1.5 check periods”, is it normal or it’s a issue? And seems as a result that the Ping service graphs are not showing any volume for RTT and packet lost. And it seems that we are not receiving email notification due to this “stale” state. Can someone please help. Thanks

Have a look at the “Master Control” sidebar snapin.
Are Service Checks globally disabled?

Hi Mr Sander,

I checked that it’s on .

I would like to correct my self, not all the hosts’ service, but 90% of the hosts’ services are in stale state. We have over 100+ hosts monitoring. Thanks

What does the monitoring server say about its performance? CPU, Memory?

The Check helper usage is at 97.8%. You need to increase the number of helpers for active checks (“Maximum concurrent active checks”).

Sorry, where can I find the “check helper usage” ?
I checked the maximum concurrent active checks, it’s set as default value 5, should I increase it?

I found it, it 's 99.5%

Thanks Mr Sander,

it seems the issue has been fixed after I increase the “Maximum concurrent active checks”.

A million thanks.

Your monitoring server should have a service check called “OMD [sitename] performance”.
The helper usage is one of the graphs there.
It is recommended to keep the usage between 40% and 60%.
