Apc rackpdu power : missing monitoring data

CMK version: 2.2.0
OS version: Ubuntu 22.04

Error message: [snmp] Success, [piggyback] Success (but no data found for this host), Parsing of section apc_rackpdu_power failedWARN , Missing monitoring data for plugins: apc_rackpdu_powerWARN , execution time 0.4 sec

I’m at a bit of a loss on how to troubleshoot this issue. My APC PDU’s in the datacenter are constantly going into warn state every hour or so.

How do I even begin to troubleshoot this issue? When I go to the device and manually initiate a re-check of the services everything goes back to green. But then eventually, maybe within an hour or two it starts missing checks again.
The PDU’s are at the same site as the checkmk server. Just on a different vlan. No internet or network latency or connectivity issues. No other devices (switches, servers, etc.) are having this issue. Just the 2 PDU’s. These PDU’s are APC AP8832 and they brand new.

we are still getting this error upwards of 30 times per day. Is there any resolution?

It looks like a strange SNMP bug on the APC device.
You can only check if there are newer firmware available.
If you use the CheckMK enterprise edition you can test with switching the SNMP backend to classic mode. Sometimes devices have a problem with the Python native SNMP implementation and work fine with classic snmpwalk.

I ran into this issue with two APC 8841 PDUs w/Network Management Card V3. We have a dozen or more of these units but most of them use Network Management Card V2 and run perfectly. On these two I set them to use SNMP v1 and haven’t seen this error reoccur.
