it would be great if based on the ESX-Host-Service “Maintenance Mode”, there was a way to automatically put the entire ESX host into checkmk maintenance. This behavior could be very well controlled by a rule.

The same goes for hosts in standby
state for those using vSphere power management.
Would be awesome to have a built-in solution in Checkmk, preferably configurable.
This should be possible with actual notifications and event console actions or with alert handlers.
The system itself will not do anything without an assigned action as it would be against the monitoring principle.
