Cache info in summary is too verbose

Is there a way to shorten the cache info as shown in a check summary?

The current text is really verbose and when many of them are shown on the same page it’s really hard to read them

E.g.

Cache generated 9 hours 53 minutes ago, cache interval: 1 day 0 hours, elapsed cache lifespan: 41.24%

It would be nice if it were shortened to something like this:

Cached 9h 53m ago (cache interval: 1d)

Or if lifespan is needed (but why?), something like this:

Cached 9h 53m ago (cache interval: 1d - elapsed lifespan: 41.24%)

@theyken low(est?) hanging fruit  but still a UX improvement

Maybe following rule can help in this?

Setup > Services > Service monitoring rules > Translation of service descriptions
EDIT: Setup > Agents > Access to agents > Translation of service names

Within this ruleset service descriptions can be translated similar to the ruleset Hostname translation for piggybacked hosts. Services such as Check_MK, Check_MK Agent, Check_MK Discovery, Check_MK inventory, and Check_MK HW/SW Inventory are excluded. Attention:

  • Downtimes and other configured rules which match these services have to be adapted.
  • Performance data and graphs will begin from scratch for translated services.
  • Especially configured check parameters keep their functionality further on.
  • This new ruleset translates also the item part of a service description. This means that after such a translation the item may be gone but is used in the conditions of the parameters further on if any parameters are configured. This might be confusing.

Can't find it.
I'm on Checkmk Raw Edition 2.4.0p18

This only exists inside the enterprise/cloud editions.

I’m on an older raw version, 2.1.0p5, maybe they changed the name of the ruleset to Translation of service names?

And I guess I was still snoring when typing the path, because it’s actually Setup > Agents > Access to agents > Translation of service descriptions.

I think you are confused with Service state translation, looks almost the same, but is different.

Ok “Translation of service descriptions” does not exists with this name anymore.

In current versions it is - “Translation of service names” and yes this is also available in RAW editions.

Ok. That one is available.

But “Translation of service names” sounds like it would change the service name and not its summary output. Correct?

Yes this will translate the name of a service and not the output. I’m not aware of a way to translate the output.
