OMD - Open Monitoring Distribution Version 2.5.0p14.ultimate
ORACLE Llinux 10
Hi
I would like to monitor the age of my rman backups of archivelogs.
If I try to select the “service label” drop down, no Items come up.
The console shows RMAN Jobs and the their age
Note the missing “Service Labels” in the Hardcopy
any Ideas?
Thx Christian
Hi Christian,
the empty dropdown is expected. “Service labels” only lists labels that actually exist in your site — if nothing creates any, there is nothing to select. That’s not a bug.
You don’t need labels here anyway. oracle_rman is item-based: the item is the SID and the backup type separated by a dot, e.g. MYDB.ARCHIVELOG (also MYDB.DB_FULL, MYDB.DB_INCR_0, MYDB.CONTROLFILE). So set your condition in the service/item field of the rule instead, matching the archivelog item.
The quickest way to get the exact strings: open the host in the monitoring and look at the service names of the RMAN services, or check var/check_mk/autochecks/<hostname>.mk on the site.
Which ruleset do you have open — “Oracle RMAN backups”? Then the condition field you want is the item one, not the labels one.
I can find [ORA CDBDEMO.ARCHIVELOG RMAN Backup].
in the ruleset “Oracle RMAN Backups:”
I can not find item. Sorry, might be admintostupid error
Not to stupid
The item is on the bottom “Database SID”
To get this field prefilled with the correct value, you can select “parameters for this service” in the service icon column. Then the button “create rule for this service”.
