I have a client that is transitioning from another monitoring platform to CheckMK. This other large enterprise monitor gives them a report of all network interfaces sorted from largest to smallest percentage used.
Aka server 1 NIC is using 10% (either in or out) of it’s 40Gbps interface shows up under switch 3 uplink port that is using 85% (either in or out) of it’s 1Gbps port.
With how CheckMK does it in the Perf-O-Meter using bps, server 1, which is not at risk of saturating the link, would show up above the switch which might tip over and cause an outage due to saturation.
The percentage does show up in the Extended Summary of the plugin output, so it is being computed somewhere.
