Just a heads up about monitoring Brocade/Extreme VDX switches.
Some Brocade/Extreme VDX switches are missing the default OIDs for fans/PSUs/temperature (using same firmware version v7.3.0).
Therefore the default Brocade checks don’t work on all VDX switches; the ones with newer hardware don’t show the values for fans/temp/PSUs.
However, there’s another subtree ‘.1.3.6.1.3.94.1.8.1’.
This subtree contains the info I need about fans/temp/PSUs (even on the VDXes with older hardware revisions).
I don’t know if this has been fixed in newer versions of Check_MK, but if you encounter missing fan/temp/PSU on your VDX switches, best check this alternative OID.
Also, if you replace a VDX switch and you are missing some info all of a sudden, this could be your problem.
