I want to monitor our mitsubishi air conditioning system via modbus. How do I activate the modbus from check_mk/share/treasures/modbus? What file has to be copied to which location? I am using v1.2.8p22.
Hi Dirk,
first you should test if the agent_modbus is working with your device.
If this is working then you should copy the other files in the shown directories under your local structure in your site.
checks → share/check_mk/checks
modbus_value → share/check_mk/checks
wato → share/check_mk/web/plugins/wato
perfometer and checkman are not important for testing
If all went the right way you should find a new rule inside “Datasource programs”.

Hi Andreas,
testing on the shell with „./agent_modbus 10.10.8.122 502 5:1:gauge:act_temp1“ is reading the correct value. After copying the files
you mentioned to the site structure the „Check Modbus devices“ only appears under event console in host parameters. No new datasource program shows up. No new active check appears. Isn’t it possible to create services based on modbus values? I’m new with Check_MK.
Just evaluating if it fits our needs.
