Hi, on a lot of the hosts I have in check_mk I get warnings about the check_mk service. This alarms once and then goes back to OK. An example is below:
Firstly, I can’t really see from the info about why I get the alerts as both the execution and process times look fine. Secondly, if this service really is taking too long to respond, how can I change the timeout?
Thanks.
Pete.
Thanks for the reply. I included just the recovery because they always show any spikes etc in the attached graphs indicating why the service / host went warning or critical.
Apart from changing the notifications I also wanted to see why I was getting the notifications in the first place. When you look at the two graphs attached everything is <1sec so even if the service notification is set to 10secs or 60secs I would have thought
I shouldn’t get the notifications. Am I reading this wrong?
Pete.

That is the recovery notification. If it’s the notifications that bother you, add a service notification delay
rule (either globally or just for the check_mk service), so that it will have to timeout more than once
before you get email.
I seem to remember there is/was a 10 second timeout for the check_mk service connection in the
WATO - Configuration → Global settings. (That’s just for the initial connection…if the agent takes longer
than 60 seconds, then the nagios service check timeout becomes relevant.)
