HI all,
How do I get the optional query type flag? Seems like it is missing from v 2.1.1
/opt/omd/versions/1.2.8p14.cre/lib/nagios/plugins/check_dns --version
check_dns v2.1.1 (monitoring-plugins 2.1.1)

Sent before finishing my thoughts…
flag is;
-q, --querytype=TYPE
Optional DNS record query type where TYPE =(A, AAAA, SRV, TXT, MX, ANY)
The default query type is ‘A’ (IPv4 host entry)
Without setting this parameter, the check_dns does not work for certain checks. (ones that require ‘ANY’ query type)

Hi Paul,
I don't think this is the right place to ask this question.
This plugin is developed by the monitoring plugin project[1] and is
bundled with Nagios (the default monitoring for CRE).

Evy

I can get around it by simply running an older version of check_dns via mrpe on a linux server, but thought i’d see if anyone else had come across this scenario first.
Thanks.
