[Check_mk (english)] checkmk-en Digest, Vol 113, Issue 25

Thank you for the response!

  I hopped in and checked all of that and polled the same OID that

my checkmk plugin is polling for and got the output i’m looking
for. I checked the device parameters and everything looks fine i’m
really lost as to what the issue is and at this point will to pay
for someone to point me in the right direction or hop on and check
it out with me!

Does the switch respond to SNMP outside of the plugin? If so, the issue is
with the plugin itself. If not, then there is something wrong with the
device parameters or some other issue (firewall etc) Try snmpwalk the
device from the monitoring server.

I still cant get this working =[ does anyone have anymore suggestions?

Hi Chuck,

I know you checked the device parameters, but could it be you are using bulkwalk on this device?
If this has changed (so, you weren’t using bulkwalk then, but you are now) this could be the cause of your issue.
I had a similar issue myself with a Brocade switch. My script got a garbled SNMP response to work with, although all manual testing was fine.

I suppose the easiest way to check if you are experiencing the same issue, is to explicitly exclude this device from using bulkwalk (under Host & Service Parameters → Access To Agents).
