Hello.
I need check_mk to return “Critical” instead of “Unknown” in case of timeout. Any hint ?

Hi,
inside WATO you find the rule “Status of Check_MK service” there you can define how it will behave in case of a problem

You can find the option here - Host & Service Parameters → Access to Agents → Status of the Check_MK Service

Re: [Check_mk (english)] “Critical” instead of “Unknown”
Ok, got it … But the problem is when check_mk doesn’t even return a response (because it times out) and that’s not covered .
The thing is… If I have a host that “freezes” (overload, OOM, whatever) but still respond to icmp requests, the only clue that it is hung is the check_mk becoming “unknown” due to timeout, so I need it to be “critical”.
If it was a plugin/check, it’d be easy to change the behaviour (by tricking it to return 2 instead of 3), but I’m not able to find a way to do it with check_mk.
Any hints ?
Regards,
