I have been monitoring drives on a windows server for years and yesterday it will no longer check or see the E: drive ? The drive is there and I can see all the data on the drive but check_mk will not see it all of a sudden ? I have restarted
the service and even rebuilt the host on the check_mk server still no drive shows up…??
Anyone got any idea’s ?
Thank you.
Philip Parsons
Did someone create a rule to ignore that service?
We have some folks who don’t want some disks on
windows servers monitored so we did that in a
few cases.

Do not believe so. As I am the only one on the server but where would I find the rules if that was the case.
Techeez on the go so please excuse the spelling.

MailScanner
hello,
you can go editing the host and there you will find the button "services". after using "services" you will see a list with all services of the affected host. if the missed service is visible without a new scan you can edit the parameters of that service with all rules which affect that service.
if you do not see your missing service you can do a full scan to get the service back perhaps.
greetings
marcel

Tried that and the drive does not show up after doing a full scan.

Hi Philip,
is the drive inside your check_mk agent output?
If yes then the problem lies somewhere on the monitoringserver side. If your drive is missing already at the agent output then it is a strange problem.
If there is a ignore rule existing then the full scan will not help as the service is “ignored”.
You can look inside your “Monitoring Configuration” → “Disabled services” if there is a rule existing.
Best regards

The Agent does not show the drive in the DF section but does in the
winperf section of the agent output.
There is not disabled services. I have even removed and installed the
agent again upgrading it as well.

This looks like a strange problem on your agent side.
Reboot of this Windows machine changed anything?
You can also test if there is other output if you run the agent with “check_mk_agent test” on the command line under your normal user account.
