[Check_mk (english)] Dokuwiki issues: LDAP config, user manager plugin and "Extension directory is not writable"

Hi

  1. I’m trying to configure Dokuwiki to allow login users from a LDAP server – the same succesful LDAP configuration used in the CheckMK. But it is not working.

Then I downloaded a new LDAP plugin (ldaplocal) but it does not work either.

Perhaps I have been very naive for expecting from Dokuwiki user management the same from CheckMK one, but I guess they have nothing to do each other.

  1. I quit and tried to add local users manually but there is no “User Admin” in the configuration page. The “User Manager” plugin is installed, though.

The only working authentication plugin is “authmultisite”, which I cannot find in the Dokuwiki documentation. How does it work?

  1. The “Extension Manager” shows “Extension directory is not writable” in every plugin excepting the manually installed ones by me.

Best regards

Hi José,

Dokuwiki is normally using the users from CheckMK. You don’t need your own authentication to an LDAP server.

If you can authenticate to CheckMK then you can also work inside your Dokuwiki.

“authmultisite” is the plugin used to authenticate against the CheckMK web interface.

“Extension directory is not writable” that’s message is correct. As CheckMK/OMD is using the core components for multiple sites, this sites all share the same code base.

That means if you can install automatically a plugin in one site then the system must write somewhere it has no rights.

Manually installed plugins must go in a site to the folder “~/var/dokuwiki/lib/plugins/”. Inside this folder you see many symlinks to the default plugins inside the core code base.

Your own plugins will be here inside as the normal plugin folder.

Best regards

Andreas
