[Check_mk (english)] Getting UP -> DOWN alert even when server is up. Please help how to fix this issue.

Hi,

Getting UP -> DOWN alert even when server is up. Could you please help how to fix this issue.

Thanks,

Venkataramu Thammanna

You could change your network settings from to ‘Local network (low
latency)’ to ‘WAN (high latency)’
I’ve got a host tag for that: Networking Segment
and a rule in the Main directory that sets the host check thresholds
for those hosts. (basically all of mine
since we have another system that does ping checks and I don’t want
duplicate notifications from check_mk
and the other monitoring server.

I am sorry to ask this queries in this mail.

How to change the Alert thresholds on the Memory utilization to Warning @ 80%, and critical @ 95%

Getting error while view in graphs “**Alert: **You are not authorized to view this host/service ”.
I don’t have any issue with omdadmin account but with different account which is added to administrator group.

The default check sends 5 pings. If they fail, CMK will think the host is down. The best way to fix this is to increase the number of checks before the host is marked as down. If you set it to 3, then the system will have to fail to respond to 5 pings 3 times in a row before it will alert.

In WATO, look under Host & Service Parameters
-> Monitoring Configuration -> Maximum number of check attempts for host.

There could be other factors. Look at why the host is considered down.
Was it dropped packets? High Round Trip Average (RTA)? Timeout? Errors?
You can relax the thresholds to accommodate your 'normal' performance
on your network.

Rule: PING and host check parameters

Jam Mulch,

There is no packets drops , timeout and errors. Everything is normal.
