[Check_mk (english)] Having Interface IP Address showing in Service Descriptions...

Hello All,

Any suggestion on how we can have Interface IP Address showing up in the Service descriptions ?

Hi Faisal,

it depends for what check you want to see the IP and why.

What you can do is add a extra column to your view with the host IP. This would solve your problem without changing the checks.

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the reply, let me explain what we would like to accomplish…

e.g. On a router, different interfaces have IP addresses on them… Is it possible for Checkmk to show those in the interface service descriptions (i.e. like it currently shows the MAC address of the interface).

For this you must write your own check. The normal interface check don’t know anything about the assigned ip to a port.
