[Check_mk (english)] Host down description change

Hi all

Running check_mk 1.2.4p5

Our operators are complaining that the host down message “CRITICAL - 10.0.xxx.xxx: rta nan, lost 100%” is not a sufficient enough message to report on.

Is there a plug-in that can be modified or a script somewhere that can be changed to modify the result to my own text?

Hi Dino,

you can write your own notification script and put it in folder share/check_mk/notifications (or in OMD in folder ~/local/share/check_mk/notifications). Or modify the mail script in there. Read the README in the folder to get a hint how to write your script and http://mathias-kettner.de/checkmk_flexible_notifications.html on how to use it in your notification config.
